A personalised hands-on approach to physiotherapy

~ YOUR LOCAL BOUTIQUE FARM COVE PHYSIO ~

I love my clients, but my goal is not to see you again.

Because when I’ve done my job well, you won’t need to visit me.

Your pain will be alleviated, movement and flexibility improved, and you’ll be back to living the life you want to live enjoying the things you most want to do.

Hi, I'm Rachel Ruddick Your local Farm Cove and Howick physio

By the time many of my clients come to see me, they’ve often been experiencing pain and discomfort for a while. Hoping rest and a bit of time will ‘see it right.’

And while they’ve been waiting for it to resolve, they’ve been holding themselves back, avoiding doing the things they want and need to do, for fear of triggering their discomfort and making it worse.

If this resonates with you, or if your pain and discomfort has only recently started, the sooner we take action the better.

Let’s get to the cause of the problem and resolve it so you can move on with your life.

When you choose me as your physio I aim to help you

I give you my undivided attention so you can get back to optimum health, movement, and performance as soon as possible.

Rachel Ruddick

Rachel is a Masters level physiotherapist with 20 years of physiotherapy knowledge and experience who has a strong focus on manual therapy and biomechanics with the goal of alleviating pain and restoring function long term so you can get back to living.

Rachel completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Otago university in 2002 followed by a Masters Degree in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 2010. Rachel has also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in the Hand and Upper Limb so is an expert in diagnosis and treatment of a range of musculoskeletal conditions.

She has largely specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy working in a variety of private practice roles gaining detailed knowledge of running, swimming, and cycling technique and biomechanics. This enables her to analyse movement patterns in the context of pain or lack of performance.

She also has experience in a pain management service and a vocational rehabilitation service, giving her a strong knowledge of the complexities of pain and a focus on returning people not only to work but a life they love.

Outside of work Rachel is a busy Mum of four kids and loves off road running and mountain biking.

Rachel is an NZ Registered Physiotherapist (NZRP) and a member of Physiotherapy NZ (PNZ) and the New Zealand Manipulative Physiotherapists Association  (NZMPA).

First contact practitioner

You do not need a referral to see me as I can lodge ACC claims and refer you for x-rays and ultrasound scans.

If required I can also refer you on to a musculoskeletal or sports physician, or orthopaedic surgeon for further investigation and diagnosis.

I am trained to a high level as a 'first contact practitioner' and will refer back to the GP if I believe it is required.
